The history of Rausch Privat-Confiserie
The history of Rausch Privat-Confiserie is one of enthusiastic chocolate makers.
Chocolatiers since 1918
It all started with Wilhelm Rausch. Himself the son of a confectioner and expert chocolate maker, he opened his own business in Berlin in 1918, Rausch Privat-Confiserie, where he produced finest chocolates, chocolate bars and gingerbread. The Berliners loved his treats, so he was soon able to expand his business. There were now seven Rausch Confiserie shops, all of which Rausch supplied daily with freshly prepared chocolate delicacies.
His three children continued his success story.
In 1986, on the occasion of the company’s 50th anniversary, a new chocolate factory was opened in Berlin-Tempelhof.
The best chocolate in the world ...
In 1971 Jürgen Rausch, son of Gerhard Rausch, entered the family business; ten years later he became its managing director. His motto was – and still is, “Good chocolate makes you happy,” his aim to produce the best chocolate in the world.
In 1982 he built a second factory for the production of fine chocolate. There he later decided to set up the Rausch SchokoLand, too, with a chocolate museum, a chocolate café and an open production where you can watch chocolate being made.
Just like his predecessors Jürgen Rausch, too, only uses precious and rare finest cocoas for the production of his exquisite chocolate. His standard is, “we only take the very best cocoas there are.” You can only produce the world’s best chocolate if you use the world’s best cocoas.
... from the best cocoas in the world
After years of hunting for the best cocoas and the best recipes and after countless tastings, finally in 2000 the Rausch Plantagen-Schokolade was developed using the world’s best cocoas.
It is a unique product line where each product is made only of the best cocoa from one single cocoa growing area.
